Daniel is the Senior Director, Technology, Identification Solutions Division for Avery Dennison. He was appointed to this position on in March, 2021.
Daniel is responsible for the strategic leadership of the ZippyYum brand, and as a thought leader to develop Identification Soltuions’ long-term software strategy.
He founded ZippyYum in 2011 when he began investing in quick-service restaurants and realized the need for technology in the industry. ZippyYum quickly grew with products focused on digitizing back-of-house operations for restaurants, and today their apps are used in over 35,000 restaurants in 27 countries. Daniel has over 34 years of experience in enterprise software development and hardware engineering. He spent his early career as a software engineer for Clifton Myers Enterprises (CME) and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming CME’s President and CEO in 2000. He has worked with a variety of companies from small startups to large corporations like AT&T, Bells Labs, Paypal, Subway, and Wells Fargo.
Daniel holds a Bachelor in Mathematics and earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Science through the University of California. He has made important contributions to processor design for Honeywell and McDonnel Douglas as well as kernel development for the Unix/Linux operating systems. Daniel holds multiple patents in both the medical field and food industry.
